I am a medical anthropologist turned yoga teacher who provides integrative sessions of vinyasa yoga, focused breathwork and mindful meditation. My teaching style is focused, individualized, and hands-on. Your sessions with me will take place in the convenience of your own home, enabling you to foster a greater awareness of your inner voice and how you can best to connect with it in the specific environment that envelops you and shapes your life. I partner with you to discover the specific yoga and mindfulness practices that will inspire you to lead a sustainable, healthy lifestyle.
My private sessions are available for all levels and ages, from beginners to advanced practitioners. I specialize in a dynamic alignment-based power vinyasa yoga that recognizes that standard alignment practices (i.e. Iyengar, Ashtanga) are not beneficial for every body. Our one-on-one sessions allow me to design an integrative practice based on your individual needs and preferences, so every session will be unique and tailored to you. Because I plan out each session ahead of time, no session with me is ever exactly the same (unless requested). I invest commitment and care into designing your specific program, with detailed attention toward who you are and the realities of your daily life and space.
Every session with me will integrate either dynamic alignment-based power vinyasa yoga or restorative yoga, with breathwork and meditation, in whatever combinations you request. So in a typical session you will practice some focused breathwork (pranayama), some mindful meditation (dharana and dhyana), some physical movement (yoga asana), and finally, full relaxation and release (savasana).
Many of the features which I bring to you are drawn from my own daily practice, which includes vinyasa yoga, breathwork and meditation. I strive to honor each client’s own personal journey and to maximize the attainment of your specific physical, emotional or spiritual goals.
